National guard soldiers return to Virginia from Iraq (Richmond Times-Dispatch) WEST POINT -- The 105 soldiers from Virginia National Guard's West Point-based 237th Engineer Company returned home today after nearly a year in Iraq. They were greeted by Gov. Timothy M. Kaine and others during a ceremony at the West Point High School. After the short ceremony, the soldiers quickly gathered with family and friends.
West Virginia Postmaster Murdered at Post Office (10:00PM) (CBS 6 Richmond) MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - A West Virginia post master has died after police say a man she knew shot her at her post office. Police say 35-year-old Post Master Lua Wolverton was shot twice with a shotgun Friday afternoon but was able to call 911 and describe her attacker.
