State Police closed Route 8 northbound in Winsted around 1:30 p.m. after a traffic accident just over the state line in Massachusetts. Police will be diverting travelers attempting to drive north on Route 8 near Northwestern Connecticut Community College toward Colebrook. It is not known how long the road will be closed.
